FAQs

How long does a bottle of Basin Formulas Follicle Formula last?

Everyone’s hair is unique and so is their usage of Follicle Formula. During our testing phases with many different users, we found that a single bottle can last anywhere from 2 to 10 months depending on factors such as the following mentioned below

- Hair length and thickness.

- Desired feel. (light application vs heavier application)

- Frequency of application. (daily vs a few times per week)

- Dropper amount used per application.

This flexibility is part of what makes follicle formula both powerful and cost-effective.

When will I see results?

Results for fuller and thicker looking hair vary depending on frequency and how light or heavy you apply Follicle Formula. For best results, use daily. Most users during testing phases noticed their hair was softer and shinier overnight and noticed their hair was noticeably fuller around the 3-4 week mark when applied to areas of wanted improvement on the scalp. Consistency is key. Best results achieved with daily use.

Is Follicle Formula safe to use with hair extensions?

Yes, Follicle Formula is extension-friendly when used correctly. It’s safe to use on your natural hair and the extension hair, but avoid applying oils directly to attachment points, since oils can reduce grip and cause slipping with certain installs.

Best practice for all extension types:

  • Apply 1–2 drops to your palms, rub together, then lightly smooth through mid-lengths to ends for frizz control and shine.

  • Do not saturate the roots or attachment area.

Extension-type guidance:

  • Tape-ins: Avoid oil near the tape/roots (most sensitive to slippage). Use on ends only.

  • Keratin/fusion bonds: Keep oil off the bond area; use mid-lengths to ends.

  • Microlinks/beads: Use on lengths; avoid soaking near beads/threads.

  • Sew-ins/wefts: Use on leave-out and ends. If applying to scalp, use very small amounts along parts and avoid product buildup near tracks.

  • Clip-ins/halo: Safe to use on the extension hair—focus on ends.

Tip: If you’re unsure, follow your stylist’s care instructions for your specific install. Always patch test and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
